I am working on my CC and I need to get in some speeches, but the speaker schedule fill sup so quickly. What do I do?
NQACC (Not Quite a Competent Communicator)
Great question! This is a common problem in well established clubs. Here are some ways to get in those extra speaking opportunities:
- Talk to your EdVP (Vice President Education) about setting up a “Speech-a-thon” (known to Chamber Voices as a Toast-a-Rama). You can do a speech or two and still get some amazing feedback.
- Are you speaking for a work group, church group, AA Group? If so, have a fellow club member attend your meeting and give you an evaluation.
- Ask your District Governor (or someone active in another club), if they would like a guest speaker. Some smaller clubs need “filler” for their meetings. This is helpful to the smaller club, plus it allows you to see why your home club is the best!
Good luck on achieving your CC!
